It was a great pleasure to have you visit the bookstore. And it is hard to believe that you will not be here again. But, enough about that! Thanks, Carl.

Carl, I only met you this past year....feeding the cats at Country Corner. I'm so glad I got to know you even if it was just a little bit. Your interaction with the cats was amazing. They still watch for you, but they are starting to get used to my car coming instead. You are such a kind soul..I pray that you Found your Peace !!! You deserve it. Don't worry about the cats, I'll continue your job. RIP.

My big brother, it was an honor to know you. You were truly unique, and I believe you knew how funny and entertaining you could be. I always felt you missed your calling by not going into stand up comedy, you would have been a great success at that profession! I appreciated all you did for discovering and sharing family history. I imagine your loving welcome on the other side by Mom and Dad, Zelda and Betty, and all our dear ones who have crossed over. Rest in peace, Carl, and know at last that life is eternal.

Well Carl, where do I begin? You were the most crotchety, most stubborn, most anti social old guy around. Then again, you were also one of the funniest, most thoughtful, most intelligent, most entertaining men I've ever known. You taught me a lot of stuff-some of it even useful-and our talks always left me smiling. I'll always treasure the books you've given me with your little notes in the margins. Who knew Abraham Lincoln referenced whores is his letter to that fallen soldier's family? Or that 'Jingle Bells' had all those extra verses (none of them suitable for children but still entertaining)? You were definitely a character and I'm so grateful to have known you. I'm saddened by the loss of you and am left wondering who'll hit on me now? Who's going to teach me about Qauntum Mechanics & it's application in today's society or whatever? Who's going to bring me those little knick knacks from various garage sales? I'd use some kind of equation like Life - You = :( but you'd find that annoying and silly so I'll close with something more poetic-the last little phrase you shared with me: "bring the curtain down, the farce is over..." Thanks Carl, I won't forget you

Goodbye dear brother, childhood playmate , companion, confidant. You always said that I was the only one who cared about you. That is SO NOT TRUE. Many did. But I think you knew that I loved you most of all. Your passing devastates me.

Carl you will be missed so much by myself and so many people in this area. I wish you had known how much so many people cared for you. I wish you had loved yourself more so that you could accept love from others. Everyone we have talked to said how much they cared for you, enjoyed your humor, that you were their favorite customer and on and on.
I pray you finally know the love and peace of Jesus that you deserved.
Your sister.

Carl, You are greatly missed here at Masters. The last 15 years your kind heart and unique personally has touched so many. You were family here. From birthdays to weddings, you were always included. I will miss the morning conversations, humor of day, and history lessons, that usually ended in “Yippi, enough about that”. All of those books you read made you one of most intelligent but stubborn people I know. Nevertheless, it was your soft side and love for animals that made you the best. Your cats and all the other animals will also miss you. Rest in Pease my Friend.

Carl,
Your presence in our town will be missed. It saddens
Me to think that you did not know how many people here
cared about you. You did your best to keep everyone at
arms length, but there will always be a soft spot in my
Memory. You, sitting, reading. Rest in peace.
Kindly leave your thoughts
for family, friends and other visitors.
